Lauren The Explorer

Lauren loves to wander around the yard checking everything out. Sometimes she finds flowers or dirt but today she found a paper towel that had blown away. She was so proud of her find. Her favorite program is "Dora The Explorer" and Lauren wants to be just like her.

A new way to cool off!

Lauren has discovered the sprinkler. It may even be better than her pool. It is hard for Lauren to stay in one place for very long so now with the sprinkler she can run around the yard, get wet and stay cool all at the same time.

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere

Lauren was so excited about her new dress that had a big flower on it. She had to go out in the yard and show the other flowers her pretty new dress.

Remember Lauren's friend Natasha?

We found out a few weeks ago that Natasha is in the process of being adopted by The Young Family of Long Island, NY. Her name is about to be Leah Young. Check out the Young Family Blog at http://young-family-adoption-miracle.blogspot.com.

Lauren and Leah are the same age and spent their first 8 months together in the same baby-room at the orphanage in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Natasha/Leah is pictured on our blog under the November 19th post titled "The Baby Room". We are so thrilled to know that this adorable baby is being adopted and that she will have a loving familly and home. The Young family is in Kazakhstan as we speak and their court date is coming up this Thursday` August 3rd. It will be great for Lauren and Leah to have this connection of having known each other "back when".

Bubbles

Mommy magically makes these bubbles just appear.....and when I touch them they magically disappear!!! I love bubbles!!!!

Can we go outside?..... Can We... Can we??

What more can we say?

Summer Fun

Happy, healthy, & energetic. That would be a good way to describe Lauren. Lots and lots and lots of energy. After doing some of her martial arts moves in the back yard in her jammies nothing hits the bill more than a dip in her little kiddie pool on the deck.

Hiking at the coast

Lauren loves the coast. She can never get enough of walking on the beach or hiking in the woods. These pictures are all from one of our favorite spots on the NorthernWashington Coastline. This beach is called Ruby Beach.

Gardener in the making

Lauren is turning out to be quite the gardener in the making. She is very curious about everything and has to check out the soil and inspect it closely. Fortunately for us she is not one to taste everything she touches.

We are thinking by next summer she'll be a big help in the garden.

In the middle photo it is almost like she is trying to say "My hands aren't dirty... what makes you think they would be dirty???"

Summer Flowers

Lauren is an outdoors type of girl. The more time we spend outside the better. She loves all types of flowers and plants. Daisies are her favorite. We have learned to smell the flowers for fragrance. It is also fun to lay in the grass and look up at the sky and at the birds.
